Our processOur research lead us to review many aspects of the client, their culture, the surrounding countryside, the distillery’s history, and the product itself. We were fascinated by the process of adding peat to the whisky, which creates the smoky flavour that Ardbeg is renowned for. This lead us to look at how peat is harvested and stacked for collection in large conical towers.Conclusion:Working with the shape of the peat towers as a starting point, we developed a design in tin, embossing the texture of the peat stacks onto a conical shape, finishing the design off with detailed, full-colour offset printed artwork.
