BriefDecca records approached us with a request to create a gift box that houses an album collection for a specific artist. These would be on a custom mp4 storage device. The set would include a descriptive booklet reviewing the content, as well as a cable to connect the device.Our processThe premium nature of the product called for the most premium materials to house this collection. We reviewed the artist’s catalogue and found inspiration in previous record covers, the idea being that these boxes would be reusable and collectable, and would need to stand the test of time.Conclusion:The product is housed in a wooden box, with electroform decals decorating and branding the front façade. We incorporated new digital printing technology to include an image of the artist embedded into the wood grain adding a sense of nostalgia, whilst keeping a very premium feel. A positive response from the client lead us to develop a range of bespoke gift boxes for a catalogue of artists, working as a collection on shelf.
